NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO PROPERTY OWNERS, LEASEES, AND OCCUPANTS that snow and ice shall be removed from any public sidewalk within 24 hours from the time when the snow ceases to fall. If snow or ice is not removed, the Public Works Department may clear the sidewalk and shall bill the property owner for removal costs at the rates of $90.00 per hour or a minimum charge of $50.00. If the bill is not paid the charges shall be reported to the City Clerk-Treasurer who shall insert such cost in the tax roll as a special tax and lien against the premises.
Blowing or depositing snow or ice in the street creates a traffic hazard and is unlawful. Offenders are subject to fines in accordance with the Two Rivers Municipal Code.

EACH 30 gallons of garbage placed at the curb will require a STICKER. ONLY garbage containers with STICKERS will be picked up. STICKERS must be attached to the outside of bags or on the handle of cans.
Garbage may be contained in:
30 gallon garbage cans
30 gallon plastic cans
Any multiple of the above
Examples:
3 - 30 gallon bags = 3 stickers
1 - 90 gallon garbage toter = 3 stickers

City of Two Rivers residents may drop off used motor oil at the Public Works Shop, 1415 Lake Street. The hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Empty your containers into the collection drum and take your containers with you. Containers may not be deposited at the Public Works Shop. We do not accept used motor oil from commercial businesses.

Yard wastes may not be put into the garbage as they have been banned from state landfill sites. Yard wastes should be composted at home or taken to a Manitowoc County Composting Site. The Manitowoc County composting site locations and operating hours are:
4211 Woodland Drive, Manitowoc (1/2 mile south of Highway 310). Open April 1, 2008. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
3000 Basswood Road, Manitowoc (behind the Manitowoc County Recycling Center). Open year round. Current hours: Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 pm and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - noon.
