Free Blood Pressure Screening
High blood pressure is a serious medical condition. If left undetected, it can cause other health problems. To help recognize the health risks high blood pressure can cause, the Two Rivers Fire Department offers free blood pressure screening in hopes that someone with high blood pressure will recognize the problem and seek medical advice from their doctor. The Two Rivers Fire Department offers blood pressure readings every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. If you feel you may have a problem with your blood pressure, please feel free to visit us. If you can't wait to have it checked at the scheduled time, please call the fire department and we will make arrangements for you to come in and have it checked.

Hospital Equipment Program
The Hospital Equipment Program dates back to the year of 1956. It was reported that the Two Rivers Community Hospital was going to dispose of various pieces of equipment that was no longer needed. Members of the Two Rivers Lions Club became aware of this and questioned the possibility of having this equipment on hand. Their initial thought was to provide people in the community the opportunity to use this equipment for a minimal cost. This equipment could be used during rehabilitation of an injury or because of a medical necessity. When the person was finished using the equipment it could be returned. The initial money paid would be given back to the person. The Lions Club only problem was where to keep this equipment and who would handle this on a daily basis. This is where the Two Rivers Fire Department came into the picture. The Lions club met with the Fire Department to see if a cooperative effort could be put forth to assist this cause. This is where the present day program originated. On average, there are between 100 and 150 pieces of medical equipment being used by the public at any one time.
The Hospital Equipment Program currently remains at the Fire Department. People in need of medical equipment can come to the station located at 2122 Monroe Street. A member of the Fire Department will assist the person with the needed equipment. There is a short form to be filled for tracking purposes. It is asked that the borrower use the equipment for a time period not to exceed 3 months. This time limit insures others can use the equipment. If there is a need to have the equipment longer, there are avenues through Medical Insurance to assist in purchasing the needed equipment.
An example of the equipment along with the price is as follows . Again as stated at the start, the money is returned to the person who picked up the equipment.

Junior Police Academy began in the 2003-2004 school year. It is a ˝ credit semester long course being offered at Two Rivers High School. Students are learning the procedures used by law enforcement and the reason behind those procedures. Class lessons include lecture/discussion, hands on demonstrations, guest speakers, videos and field trips. The course is open to any junior or senior who wishes to truly understand what police officers do and why they do it. The program will take the mystery out of law enforcement procedures and policies thereby transforming young people’s attitudes toward police and their role in society. The curriculum for the course was purchased through a joint donation from the Two Rivers Optimist Club and the Two Rivers Crime Prevention Committee. The class is part of a nationwide program that is present in many school districts and endorsed by President Bush. Please help us protect your bicycle by registering it with the Two Rivers Police Department. Every year the Police Department recovers almost 100 bicycles due to theft or loss. Unfortunately, because many of these bicycles are not registered we are unable to find and return them to their rightful owner. These bicycles are then sold at auction.
Registering your bicycle is simple and inexpensive. Simply open the link to complete and print the Bicycle Registration Form or come to the Police Departmnet for a form. Return registration form(s) to the Two Rivers Police Department during our business hours. Once we have the necessary information, and the current registration fee, we will issue a small license sticker. The registration fee is based on a six (6) year cycle, up to $6.00.
